About this role

Pelorus Elder & Behavioral Health is a boutique Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry practice. We have numerous skilled nursing and assisted living facility clients where we provide Psychiatric services.

Company History

Established in 2009, Pelorus is a boutique practice founded by Dr. Matthew Barnas - board certified in Geriatric and Adult Psychiatry. Our team delivers compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care while supporting and mentoring our providers.

We are growing! As we continue to expand and grow in additional states, we are excited to welcome new clinicians. We have several full-time opportunities available and are seeking enthusiastic clinicians to join our outstanding team!

Position description:
These roles are well-suited for PMHNPs with a strong interest or background in psychiatry who are seeking to deepen their expertise in psychopharmacology within a structured, supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for initial and follow-up Psychiatric consults in select assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.

All of our clinicians perform the exact same duties, so together we have refined our processes to be as efficient and pleasant as possible. There are no hospital-based services, no admissions, no discharges, minimal administrative responsibilities beyond the described clinical documentation, and billing submission.

Daily work schedule is flexible, position affords much autonomy/independence – but at the same time, support and assistance is always available to you from our three psychiatrists and colleagues.

Responsibilities include: conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments, diagnose and treat mental health conditions through evidence-based medication management, develop and manage individualized treatment plans, order and interpret laboratory tests as appropriate, participate in GDR and psychotropic medication review meetings, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, facility staff, and families, maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, meet daily productivity and encounter expectations, and respond to facility needs as appropriate.

Compensation: We offer very competitive compensation – FT salary from $120,000 and upward (based on experience/resume), with annual increases, and available productivity bonuses, as well as the option of full health benefits, 401K with employer match, malpractice insurance, CEU reimbursement, paid holidays, PTO, and no nights and weekends.
